The cottage (left) is gorgeously located with a large beachfront directly
on the lake
Nissången in the province Dalarna. Quiet location in beautiful surroundings.

The lake is shallow with a sandy bottom along the shoreline. Direct access with
steps
– excellent for children to play and swim.

The cottage has a spacious sun deck (south/west), and
offers a magnificent view over
the lake. Access to the deck is direct from the kitchen,

… where the barbeque takes a central role during a typical summer evening.

In immediate contact with the lake is a picnic table.

The (small) kitchen has a dishwashing sink, wood stove,
LPG stove, and a LPG fridge
(103 liter). The standard is plain.

The living room offers a breath-taking view over the lake …

… with a fireplace to gather around during evenings. In
the back of the room is a
double bed (140cm; 2 beds) of old Dalecarlian style.

When twilight sets in, the old oil lamp creates a nice and cosy atmosphere.

A dip in the lake is the standard substitute for the lack of shower.

The bedroom has two bunk beds of old Dalecarlian style, in
total four (4) beds.

In the bedroom you find plenty of storage space – and also
a wash-basin.

|

|
The boathouse has a room with two (2)
beds in a bunk arrangement.
|
On the lot is also the privy.
|

A few meters from the lakeshore is a new sauna building.
To the right is the water well
house.

The wood fired sauna is equipped with a hot water tap. A window towards the
lake
offers a magnificent view.

Behind the curtain is a shower area with a drain – but no running water. To
cool off,
the standard procedure is a (nude) dip in the lake. The less brave willmix hot
water
(from the hot water tap) with cold water, and pour the bucket over his/her head
in the
shower area - as was done in old times.

In front of the sauna building is a large sun deck, built in two levels.
Limited standard
The standard of the cottage, built in 1955, is primitive. There is no
electricity´and no
running water. The lighting comes from oil lamps and candles.
Water is collected from a well on the lot - by winding up a chained bucket.
Personal hygiene matters are preferably carried out in the lake.
The toilet (privy) is of type outside lavatory.
For a successful vacation, you should enjoy outdoor life close to the
nature in a
unique location with spectacular views. The standard does not appeal to those
who
require comfortable city living.
At Lake Nissången, life style is”back to basics”.

View from the lot towards the public beach – one of the very best in Malung.
There is
one neighbor in between. The beach is shallow with sand bottom - excellent for small
children.
On a hot /sunny day, families will come out to enjoy these excellent waters. Overnight
camping in this area is not allowed.

To the house belongs a rowboat. Due to many shallow bays, the lake offers
plentiful
opportunities for fishing – perch and pike. Great canoeing in the nearby river of
Västerdalälven.

Wolfs and bears are present – but rarely spotted in the area.
Mooses are common – be careful on the roads especially at dawn and dusk.
The utility building in the village of Jägra (7 km towards Malung), is located in
a
beautiful environment by the river “Västerdalälven”.
Here you have access to laundry facilities, showers and sauna at a moderate
fee.

The sunset at Lake Nissången. The full shore length from left to right
(above)
including the boathouse (right) belongs to the property.

The set of boathouses forms a cultural Landmark.

Lake Nissången is quietly located in the forest in a beautiful landscape.
Location
Lake Nissången is located 14 km west of the centre (Grönland) of Malung.
GPS: N 60.67573, E 13.49290 (WGS84).
